Inform — AyurYog Collaboration
Inform is an independent charity based in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at King’s College London. It was founded in 1988 with the support of the British government and mainstream churches to provide information about new and alternative religious movements that is as accurate, balanced, and up-to-date as possible.
Dr Suzanne Newcombe, an AyurYog Post-doctoral Research Fellow, was based at Inform throughout the project. Her research focused on the sociological and social-historical dimensions of yoga and ayurveda, with particular attention to their institutionalisation and popularisation in Britain and the West.
The Inform collaboration enriched the AyurYog project’s engagement with contemporary religious studies perspectives and provided a strong base for fieldwork on the reception of yoga and ayurveda in modern global contexts.
